kill files

If you use rn or trn and want to get rid of annoying posts
then edit your kill file (press ctrl-k) and add instructions
to automatically kill articles by certian offensive people.
For example you could add:

/Jay1099/a:j

/DavidSc906/a:j

I'm not very experienced with this and I have just done this myself,
so please correct me if I have done it wrong.

Hmmm....  Very interesting.  I never knew I had such power, such ultimate
control!!  Soon the world will be mine!!!!!! :)

Thanks for the tip.   I might just be tempted...

This will work, but it will waste a lot of time. Use (for example) :

/Jay1099*/h:j
/DavidSc906*/h:j

First, using the 'h' modifier instead of 'a' means only look through the
header for the pattern. 'a' means look through the ENTIRE article. As can
you can imagine, this can take a bit longer.

Second, there is no need to use two lines per person. The '*' means
match anything after the initial string. As a bonus, this will also
kill anything will a title like "Davidsc906 s an idiot!!!" he he.

Last, The kill file is NOT case sensitive. This is a great help also.

I have a fairly long "help" file on this sort of thing. If anyone
would like me to mail it to them (or even post it) just let me know at

enjoy,
