You have never been this close to a European Championship!

Welcome to:
An open 1.5/40/10K distance race.       Promo and Relay races for everyone.
The 1995 European Police Triathlon Cup. (For policemen and -women only.)
The first combined European Championships       for Elite, Masters, Juniors and Youths.
        (National teams only.)
On July 29-30 1995.

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the first ever combined European Triathlon
Championships. Unlike championship competitions in the past, this yearis event will gather
all national teams, all ages and all categories at the same occasion. Men and women, boys
and girls from 34 nations are expected, including the very best elite, age groupers up to the
age of 80 as well as juniors and youth - truly an occasion to remember.
The championships will be organised in connection with the annual Stockholm
Triathlon, one of Swedenis largest and most popular triathlons. This race has been a
traditional favourite as it offers the chance for many  "part-time" atheletes to try this very
demanding sport on one of the most beautiful courses. This year will offer even more of a
challenge, as the regular competition will be held alongside the European Championships
- a unique opportunity to measure up with the other stars and taste the championship course.
Racing in the city.
Race headquarters will be located at the Karlberg Palace, a buildin g originally erected in the
17th century. This facility, which formerly served as an army officer training school, will be
the site for many activities and services, including the opening ceremonies and the
registration.   The start, finish and transition a reas will be located in R?lambshov Park, a
green oasis between the water and the city perfectly situated for a triathlon.  The
swimming takes place on a two lap course in open water. For last yearis competition, this
clean, almost drinkable water was a perfect 23 degrees. The cycling course offers both long
stretches out in the suburban areas as well as technically difficult parts with sharp turns in the
city. While the vertical difference seems relatively small, it should not be underestimated.
The running course is all on paved streets winding through scenic views lined with entusiastic
crowds. To conclude the weekend of tough  competition, the awards ceremony and banquet
for the national teams will be held in Stockholmis City Hall same at that one
for the Nobel price ceremony. The spirit in this beautiful facilitywill
provide the right atmosphere for honouring the successful triathletes in a
style that theydeserve. When  the formalities are taken care of we all head
for the post-race disco tocelebrate and enjoy ourselves all night. For an
