WHy so judgmental? I have seen German tourists having their pictures
taken at Auschwitz. I have seen American tourists having their picture
taken in front of the Laraine Motel in Memphis [black and white American
tourists]. I have seen tourists photographed touching a particular name on
the Vietnam memorial in WAshington DC. I have seen Jewish tourists from
several countries having their pictures taken at the memorial to the
holocaust near NOtre Dame in Paris. And I will wager that there have been
plenty of Canadian
tourists who have been photographed standing in cemetaries of the WWII
dead in France - smiling at the camera as people do when they are posing
for a photo. Why do you find this universal desire to record that
'I was there' so disgusting?
