You forgot the commercials !!!!!!!!!!!!

What would Olympics be without commercials ?!?!?!?!

We wouldn't get to here deep, philisophical quotes such as Shaquille Oneals'
"I just want to wear Reeboks and drink Pepsi".  And how about the "official
hemmorhoid medication of the Olympics"?

Regarding NBC's coverage:

I timed it yesterday (Wednesday, 7/24).  During the prime time broadcast, from 6:30pm
to 7:30pm (central time), NBC showed only two events (swimming).

Yes, in a FULL HOUR of what they call Olympic coverage, NBC only managed to show TWO
events - swimming finals that took all of five minutes each. The rest was their
"precious moments" and tension-building blather.  This is appalling.

Considering how much is really happening in Atlanta, NBC's coverage is nothing short
of pathetic.  How can they claim that their ratings justify it?  If you have a
captive audience with no competition, the ratings are meaningless.  I would rather
see ANY other broadcast, even in a language I don't understand, than watch NBC's
broadcast.  Sigh.

I did the same thing 2 days back. Recorded the full 4 1/2 hours prime
time coverage and saw it later fast forwarding the non-venet portions --
took me about an hour to see it. Hey, we should not complain, NBC
actually showed actual events 25% of the time!!
