Why must people argue over who won the gold medal at Lillehammer, both Oksana
and Nancy gave it their best, and Oksana's performance was just better, period.
Nothing about two footed landings, and doubling and triple, just Oksana's was
better, if you just took the time to pay attention that Figure Skating is about
being Artistic, not Technical.  Argue with me if you want, but Oksana was the
better skater, and anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong.

I guess I'm wrong.  I thought there were two sets of scores...one for
artistic content, one for technical content.

Hey!  I totally agree with your point.

You Nancy worshippers are just unbelievable.   Don't make up reasons
to explain why your favorite skater lost.   Accept the fact that
Americans don't always win in every competition.   Oksana truly beat
Nancy at least artistically, not to mention the degree of difficulty in
her program.   That's the fact, live with it!    Accept the fact that
these athetes from former USSR/ Russia are just super!

Things just don't always go your way every time.   Do you have to make
up reasons to explain it each time?

        JESUS CHRIST!
Are you out of your f--king mind? Another Olympics boycott?! Give me a
break! The Olympics are *not* a political replacement for war! So take your
whining about "Anti-American Pinko-Commie propaganda" elsewhere. Maybe someone
forget to tell you, but Communism is dead (for all practical purposes).
And as for communist judges favoring their athletes. Well, yeah, and I
would have to say that every judge from every country will show bias toward his
countrymen, regardless of what you think.
As for a boycott? You're looking at the Olympics as a way to make a
political statement. It's not about politics, it's about people. As an
individual training for the 1996 Olympic Team, I would be *pissed* if *any*
country boycotted, simply because it would be another instance where politics
rudely intervenes in pesonal lives.
Let's say, hypothetically, that I do well in the 1996 Olympics, and
decide that I want to make the 2000 Team. The 2000 Summer Games will be held in
Australia. Let's say that sometime in the next 6 years, Australia and the U.S.
have a major falling out, and the U.S. Government calls for a boycott. You know
what I'd do? Find a different team - other athletes have done it.
Before you start screaming that I am a communist traitor, consider
this:  I spent the last 2.5 years of my life serving Uncle Sam in the Army, and
was granted a security clearance. Knowing how well they go through your life
before giving you that clearance, I think it's safe to say that I'm not a
commie. :)
So take your silly boycott whining someplace else, where people
actually give a damn.
