Shanahan for Primeau and Coffey

Shanahan for Primeau and Coffey

Well, this is what the trade is supposed to be, just that Coffey doesn't
want to go to Hartford, and I can't blame him.  From a contender to a
pretender.  Maybe that's what Primeau wants, but Coffey is old.  And he
criticized Primeau for not reporting, but now he's supposed to be moving
along with him.  Seems like a pretty good trade to me, and to the teams,
just not to Coffey.

Coffey's contract allows him to veto any trade offers that involve himself.
Obviously the Detroit GM should have talked to Coffey a little more closely
before going public with that annoucement.

What Coffey is doing is not a contract squabble... rather it's him
exercising where he'll play for the last few years of his contract.
