around to covering this year (I miss the good ole days of KBL and WPGH auctions
for Pens season tickets). However, the game last night was hideous! If our
pal McSORRY doesn't figure out how to play D soon, he should be shipped for
anyone that Patrick can find. In both games that I've seen this year (Pens v
Hawks,4-3), McSORRY has been caught on all the goals scored. Coincidence? I
think not. Last night was another good example of why Andrusak needs to be
brought up, and pronto. With Jennings hurt (how long will he be out?) the Pens
obviously need someone who knows how to play the big D.
Defensively, the Pens are just giving up way too many 2-1, 3-2s. They were so
lucky that the Brett Hull of old was not out there (and he still scored 2 goals
and probably would have had more). Murphy seems to be tired and Ulf still has
that lovable tendency to blast off without notice (see slashing penalty, 3rd
period). Jimmy Paek, thank God you're back!
Offensively, maybe Naslund will start popping a few goals now that he's got the
1st goal monkey off his back. Jagr *is* Pittsburgh's offense. He completely
dominates the ice when he skates. Unfortunately he got a game misconduct for
cross-checking from behind about eight minutes into the first, but it wasn't
his fault, but was still a good call by the ref.
Francis palyed well, and Mullen ought to be given a medal for every time he
comes through (except I liked his look with the neck brace).
Tommy played well, but got no help whatsoever.
Despite all these shortcominigs, the Pens should gel around late December and
walk to the Cup finals.
