According to reports in the Pgh. Post-Gazette and on KDKA Radio:
the Pens new ownership group are actively pursuing Paul Martha,
current Pens Vice President, to become one of the locally based
minority investors.

The group is pursuing Martha because it feels local interests (such
as minority investors) are a necessary ingredient in runnning a sports
franchise.

Martha runs the day to day operations of the team. The group, which
consists of Howard Baldwin, Morris Belzberg and Thomas Ruta, would like
Martha to continue in that capacity when the officially own the team.

Martha, who had at one time mounted his own effort to purchase the team,
could not be reached for comment.
