Colorado will fold in the playoff's in the tradition of past teams such
as Detroit last season.  This season it will be a team that comes from
behind unexpectedly.  You can never count out any of the teams, even the
team that just scraped in to the playoffs.  Personally, I think Detroit
won't make the same mistake as last season and defeat the Pens in the
Stanley cup final.

There is a new force that Detroit and the rest of the teams in the
playoffs will have to contend with that they didn't last year -- the
Stars of Dallas, who have certainly "come from behind unexpectedly"
since last season.

The Wings and Stars go head-to-head tonight at Reunion (and I'll be
there to see it).  BTW, I say Stars over Flyers in the Cup chase.

I dont think that the Wings will make the stanley cup finals no way!!
My guess is probably the Pens and either the Oilers or the Blues. These
two teams have been playing extremly well. The Red Wings will just
collapse under such presssure so IAm not counting on the Wings to make
the Stanley cup finals!

In a long series, I think the Flyers size will beat the Stars speed.
However, I don't think the Flyers will make it out of the Eastern
Conference. They don't play well against clutch-and-grab (like NJ, Fla.,
and other Easterners) and their power play sucks (and I'm a Flyers fan).
They still need a second reliable scorer that can lead the second line,
especially with Hawerchuk hurt again.

Bottom line is Terry Murry does with the Flyers what he did with the Caps
for years: he gets them into the playoffs, but they can't get past a
round or two.

that is such a broad statement which could be said of almost any team,
not just the wings.

For some reason.... i think that the pens are going to
flop this year.  Pittsburgh is right up there amongst my
favourite teams but judging by the recent Pens losses to two
teams within their conference in NYR and the Flyers, (and
subsequent losing records to both), I would have to think
that the penguins are just not good enough to get out of their
conference.  Seems that Gretzky and Messier are able to turn
it up when they really want to this season, but Mario just
doesn't feel like it.  Looks like Francis has fallen off
a cliff (again) and Jagr just slumps whenever Mario slumps..
even when they are separated.  I am also surprised at how
poorly Stu Barnes has been playing along with massively
        overrated Petr Nedved.

Kasperitis has been playing his normal hitting game but hius
defence is atrocious.  Was Lalime just a dream?

(Wregget looks a little rusty.. but maybe he will rebound)
