Ok, The European Hockey League continued with the following results:

 Group B:

Dynamo Moscow (RUS) - Farjestad (SWE)          5-0 (1-0,2-0,2-0)
 Valerengen (NOR) - Ceske Budejovice (CZH)      2-1 (0-1,1-0,1-0)    !!!

/* So the Russian team looks very strong. Norwegian team suprised Czhecs
but I fancy that Moscow and Farjestad will rule this group */

 Group C:

 Bratislava (SVK) - CSKA Moscow (RUS)           7-3 (2-1,4-2,1-0)    !!
Sparta Prague (CZH) - EC Wien (AUT)            9-1 (3-0,3-1,3-0)

/* CSKA isn't what it used to be .. Vienna team looks very weak. Perhaps
this group will be between Czhecho-Slovakia ;-) */

 Group E:

 Frolunda Indians (SWE) - Lukko (FIN)           1-2 (1-1,0-0,0-1)    !
 Rouen (FRA) - Litvinov (CZH)                   3-3 (0-1,2-2,1-0)    !!!

/* Nice away win for lukko in Gothenburg (though the game itself was
*very* boring ... I wonder how Swedish fans stay awake at the stands
when Frolunda plays with these ultra-defencive tactics ... though this
time Lukko wasn't any better). Rouen, which is considered to be the
biggest underdog (with Manchester and Vienna) of the whole league,
stealed a point from a decent Czhech side. */

So every group has started and each team has played one game. For us Finns
thing look good since our teams are 3-0-0 with two away wins and one at
homeice. Swedish press is trashing the tournament, but I kind of enjoy
watching these other teams, even though some of them aren't even close to par
with Scandinavian teams (it must have been awful for the Manchester fans
witnessing the TPS game).  (oh .. of course Russian, German and Czhech/Slo
teams are good too ... and Swiss aren't bad either ;-))

GO TAPPARA ! GO CANADIENS !

Well, congrats to former Lulea coach Freddy Lindfors, who is now
coaching Lukko. Actually Freddy was the coach that brought Lulea
to the highest series in Sweden. There are too many of these
boring "ultra-defensive" teams in Elitserien, thats why the loose
so many spectators every year. Noone wants to be bored stiff for
almost three hours and paying at least $20 for it...

Swedish press is trashing the tournament because the only swedish
team that has won any game in the tournament is Lulea and all
the press people are either from Stockholm or Gothenburg.
Lulea seems to focus on doing well in EHL and they are not
doing as well in Elitserien. They also have a lot of injuries.
It would be a disaster if they can't beat Manchester on tuesday.
Jarmo Myllys seems to have an abdominal strain that won't go
away :-(

I would like to add that Freddy also got Bodens IK together as a team
in the late 80s. In his second year (1989/90) in BIK he brought the
team to the Allsvenskan.
