Leafs win again

Leafs win again

The Leafs are now undoubtly the hottest team in the League right now.
There aren't many teams that can walk into Vancouver and embarasses(sorry
Canuck fans) them like that. Truthfully, I never expected the Leafs to win
this game. With the Canucks at home and the Canucks looking for revenge
after the Leafs beat them in Gardens a couple of weeks back. I fully e
expected the score to be 8-1 all right, for the Canucks!! However the Leafs
continue to amaze me with their winning ways.
There were several milestones in this game, with Glenn Anderson scoring
his 1000th point and Gilmour breaking the clubs assists record. A very
satisfying win since this puts the Leafs in sole possesion of third place,
one point up on Minnesota and 9 points up on St. Louis. The Leafs are 6
points from Detroit with two games in hand. Possibly, second place in the
Norris? Next up; San Jose on Thursday. Should be an easy game for the Leafs,
if they don't get too confident. If you can believe that!
Also as a side note, I read about that rumour about Wendel being traded
to Calgary for Paul Ranhiem. Wendel Clark must have the record for most
rumours about being traded but not. If the Leafs trade Wendel, they lose
a lot of toughness which they need in the Norris division and in the playoffs
. Wendel will be needed to ride shotgun for Gilmour when they run against
tough teams like Chicago. Besides, the Leafs wouldn't be the same without
Wendel. Back in the losing years(re. the 80's) Wendel was all Leaf fans
had to watch. To get rid of Wendel now, just as they begin to win, would
be sad as Wendel helped to keep the franschise afloat and kept the flame
burning until help arrived. If the Flames get Wendel, they get a tough
winger who can score, fight, hit and lead. He can personally wake teams
up himself by a good hit or fight. I saw this personally on last Saturdays
night game between the Leafs and Bruins, when the Leafs came out flat but
were awaken by a couple of Wendels hits and his goal. That is what he can
do for you. Having him for 60 games is an honour.
