Here are the results from the last Friday. The third round of the
semi-finals was the last one, since both Ilves and TPS won their
games. Both teams were considered as favourites, so this result
wasn't a big surprise. TPS is the last year's champion and they have
played very well the whole season. Ilves has traditions: Ilves has more
championships (totally 16) than any other team, but most of them are
from the 50's and 60's. The previous championship of Ilves is from 1985,
when the other finalist was also TPS.
By the way. The total number of the championships won by teams from
Tampere is 32 (Ilves 16, Tappara 14, KooVee 1 and TaPa 1). The Finnish
League started in 1932.
