The Try That Wasn't

There was some bizarre decisions bu referee Phil Bentham in the Hull
KR v Saints game. It seems Paul Wellens was awarded a try by Bentham
and Tyrer scored the conversion. Then he decided it wasn't a try after
all and marched play back 20 metres to an apparent obstruction by Ade
Gardner that nobody was aware of because it must have been a while
back in the build up to the try. I have never seen a referee award a
try before and then cancel it, especially after the conversion has
been taken. I'm not sure a referee can do that.

they gave him the nod for the try then after the kick was taken somone said
somthing to him in his ear piece, even tho there was no video replay with it
not being on the tv.
you would of thought the refs had learnd there lesson after
cardiff, i wonder if it will be fetch'd up on the refs site so he can
explaine it
