O.k. here's my jellied eel's worth so far.
1) London Vs Brisbane:
Marvellous London performance for 60 minutes, bad luck with Edwards
followed by collective loss of will. Brisbane supporters, be worried. This
is NOT a great London side, even if it is defensively meaner than lots of
2)Saints vs Auckland.
I though this was a bad Saints performance rather than a good Auckland
one. They could and should have shut out Stacey jones, and maybe if
Goulding were fit, they might have. I still think there's something wrong
at Saints this year. I'd expect improvements, but I don't think I can
really see it happening.
3)Leeds v NQld.
No argument. NQld wanted it more. Leeds should be feeling as though they
really let themselves down.
4)Salford v Adelaide.
Ditto. That was really poor from Salford. It wasn't that they faded in the
last 20. They should have had the game won by then, but every time they
had the rams under pressure, they bombed the opening.
5)Halifax v Canberra.
Well outclassed. (I've only just seen this one as highlights, but I can
hardly remember Halifax having the ball) I don't think they'll concede 70
again, but I think it's fairly safe to say that they're really out of
their depth. I hope I have to eat my words.
6)Cas v Perth.
Good work Cas, bad work Ref. At least they showed some pride.
7)Paris v Hunter
I have very big questions about the operation of the Paris "franchise" in
general, but I thought that what I've heard and seen from Paris was
positive. Who knows maybe Andy Goodway can turn them round.
8)Wire v Cronulla.
Didn't expect much, didn't get much. On the positive side I think we all
ought to be proud of Lee Briers. He's a great prospect, and I wish we'd
9)Wigan v Cantebury.
I'm willing to eat pies for the next ten years after that one.
10) Bradford v Penrith
Well, I've seen players dismissed for fairer tackles than penrith were
putting in, but I do feel that Bradford lost concentration and bombed that
