1)   RSRL  PLAY-OFFS  TIPPING  COMP

Open to anyone.

Simply tip the result of each play-off game.

To score points you must tip the correct team. Points are
awarded according to how close to the actual margin
you come:

Tip correct
margin............................................................25 points
One point away from actual margin....................20 pts
2   points
away...................................................................19
pts
3   points
away...................................................................18
pts

etc etc down to

18 points
away......................................................................3
pts
19 points
away......................................................................2
pts
20 points or more away from correct margin...1pt.

Tip the WRONG team, however ,and you end up with MINUS 1 pt

----------------------------------------------

2)   "VIRTUAL"  Play-offs Competition

For the top 8 players in the Ladder.

Played to the same format as the actual Play-offs

eg in the first week

#1 plays #4
#2 plays #3

#5 plays #8      loser eliminated
#6 plays #7      loser eliminated

Points are scored as shown above.

Players can enter the same tips as for the first competition, or different
ones.

In the event of a draw, the player who finished higher in the Ladder
progresses.  (i.e. home advantage)

(Tips can be sent to me directly, in case anyone thinks there`s an advantage
to be gained by seeing someone else`s tips first)

Will post the fixtures shortly as need to find out who is 7th and 8th for
the "Virtual" play-off comp.

Dee, originally it was minus 10pts for an incorrect tip

But this usually meant that if you did have one wrong
tip, you were left miles behind everyone else, with
absolutely no chance of catching up.

The penalty was then reduced to minus one point,
which for the last couple of years has seemed to
work far better.

Oops, I never noticed, don't know why with my recent record. Probably a
good idea

John and Peter,

You have both entered 2 lots of tips for this weekend. Do you want one lot
for the RSRL play-offs and the other for the Virtual Play-offs where you
play Gordon and Vicky respectively or do you want one set for both.

Please let me know which you would like.
