The Rugby League world cup and Super League play offs question

Post by Commander Hughe » Tue, 11 Sep 2007 14:09:44

Hey guys,

Sorry I didn't keep up with the tipping comp this year, had a lot of things
to do that prevented me from going to newsgroups a lot.

Just wondering, the rugby league world cup is next year and does anyone know
who has the broadcasting rights for the tournament? I would imagine the BBC?
I would hope not Setanta though.

And the Super League play offs.  I always get confused at this so could
someone please fill me in to how the 6 teams are arranged to play each
other?

Thanks

James

As regards the playoffs,
Week 1 : teams in 1st and 2nd place get the week off
3rd at home to 6th
4th at home to 5th

Week 2 :
1st at home to 2nd, the winner is in the grand final and gets week 3 off
The 2 winners from week 1 play each other, the higher finishing team at home

Week 3 :
The loser of 1st v 2nd is at home to the winner of the other match.
Whoever wins this is in the grand final.

Hope that's clear

Dee

Sorry you didn`t manage to keep up with the tipping comp, Commander, sir.

But don`t forget there`s an entirely different tipping comp during the
play-offs,
starting next week.

(...and there`s also a seperate tipping comp for the top 6 in the tipping
Ladder, played on an elimination basis to the same format as the actual
play-offs. )

I`ll post the rules for that later this week

Gordon
