Are you sure that you're reading the same newsgroup? I've just checked
the list of current threads. One is about Scottish association football (!)
but the rest are about rugby league - club name changes, the current
innternational series against New Zealand, lots about the battle between
ARL and Super League for control of rugby league. I can't see how any of
the arguments could be described as 'bragging about RL'. We are talking
about a game we all love (that's what the newsgroup is for - it is
called rec.sport.rugby.league). RU might get mentioned occasionally
where it impinges on rugby league matters (league players turning out for
union clubs during the close season, etc.) but most people here don't
treat RU any differently than Aussie Rules football, American football,
Gaelic football etc. - it is a different sport with its own newsgroup.
If you are interested in rugby league football carry on reading (and
contributing - asking questions, giving your opinion of Maurice Lindlay,
but try to keep it clean - there are some under-18 year olds who read
here), but don't come complaining about how much better the RU newsgroup
is. Join in here and raise the standard of debate.
