Rugby League?

Post by Rick Robbi » Fri, 25 Oct 1996 04:00:00

Somethin funny about this newsgroup compared to RU's. About everything I see
here has something to do with complaining about RU or bragging about RL. I
don't understand it, I don't see anything about RL in RU's newsgroup and I
see more positive comments there than here. I am starting to wonder if RL
fans came from soccer? Now, if this doesn't get some positive comments, I
can't see what would.

This is one of the strangest statements i've ever seen on this ng Rick.
Maybe you could gather all these complaints about RU and post them for
us. Bragging about RL? Well it is one of the two RL ngs. Have you seen
aus.sport.rugby-league?

I often wonder why people come in to slag RL too? I've always wondered
why people hate RL and if so why tell us about it? What's your problem?

Do you mean everyone just pisses in each others pockets over there?

Do you expect an answer to this question? Where do you come from?

I can't see you getting any positive comments.

Feel free to come back and asks some questions about RL.

Otherwise please don't waste our time.

Are you sure that you're reading the same newsgroup? I've just checked
the list of current threads. One is about Scottish association football (!)
but the rest are about rugby league - club name changes, the current
innternational series against New Zealand, lots about the battle between
ARL and Super League for control of rugby league. I can't see how any of
the arguments could be described as 'bragging about RL'. We are talking
about a game we all love (that's what the newsgroup is for - it is
called rec.sport.rugby.league). RU might get mentioned occasionally
where it impinges on rugby league matters (league players turning out for
union clubs during the close season, etc.) but most people here don't
treat RU any differently than Aussie Rules football, American football,
Gaelic football etc. - it is a different sport with its own newsgroup.
If you are interested in rugby league football carry on reading (and
contributing - asking questions, giving your opinion of Maurice Lindlay,
but try to keep it clean - there are some under-18 year olds who read
here), but don't come complaining about how much better the RU newsgroup
is. Join in here and raise the standard of debate.

Don't you? You aren't looking very hard then. Try 'The Sad State of
British Rugby League'. Perchance that is a discussion of RL.
