Brisbane Broncos forward Gordon Tallis has been given no more than a slap
on the wrist for his attack on Wigan substitute Terry O'Connor in Monday's
World Club Championship match.
Tallis has escaped with a warning letter despite a plea for action by a
Brisbane forensic pathologist who claimed such an attack could have proved
Tallis landed three heavy blows on O'Connor's head in the attack in the
59th minute of the game.
O'Connor retaliated with a punch to Tallis' head and both players were
sent to the sin-bin.
The Wigan camp decided against lodging a formal complaint because they
didn't want to be labelled "whingeing Poms".

to Tallis officially warning him that any such incident in the future
