Fixtures 21 June?

Post by 100755.1.. » Wed, 10 Jun 1998 04:00:00

A few weeks back when I thought I was going to the Yew Kay someone (Chris I
expect) was kind enough to post the fixtures.  Sad to say I never made it, but
some kind hearted people are paying for me to come back on an interview the
weekend after next so I would be full of grates (and promise to go to at least
one game) if somebody could please post the games and kick off times for next
weekend.

The only day I can realistically go anywhere is Sunday 21st as I arrive on
Saturday and fly back on Monday.  Lower divisions as well as SL please -I'm
not proud :-)

Ta muchly,

Southern Jessie

That's Round 11 in SL. These are the corresponding fixtures:

Friday June 19
Leeds          v Halifax           7.45 (Sky TV)

Sunday June 21 - 3.00 unless stated
Huddersfield   v Hull              6.35 (Sky TV)
 London         v Castleford
 Salford        v Bradford
 Wigan          v Warrington

It looks like a good round to me with what should be competitive fixtures
across the board. Not sure how Wigan v Warrington will pan out. If Wire
can improve on an already decent showing this weekend then they could cause
Wigan some problems. The rest look as tight as a gnat's arse as it is.

I seem to have trashed my own copies of Div1, Div2 & RL
Conference fixtures for some reason. ***. Someone else will have to
post those.

Ah, you're a treasure.  Are you going to Salford?  I've got
to be in the Manchester area for Monday and I've not decided where to
stay yet (was going to head for Yorkshire for some decent beer) so I might
go along to see Bradford get another hammering :-) although I've never been
to Central Park yet.  Hmmmm..

        Grateful if they can.

Yet another public thank you to Mr Chris Russell, the man with the

Dunno yet. I'm half way through my pay period now and I'm fast
approaching the overdraft limit. If I can tap off our kid then almost
certainly. Going to Salford last year was one of the best away games I've
ever been to and it was the first one my sister had been to so I reckon
she'll want to go again.

My getting to away games these days depends on her wanting to go as well
cos I can't drive and my dad's turning into a miserable bastard who only
goes to home games.

But why either of them ? (Apart from the obvious ...)

I wanted a unique string for searching newsgroups with. That way I can
search groups for replies to my posts which I can answer straight away,
the rest I can read as and when. When I did this (1993 I think) there was
another Chris Russell in comp.lang.c and there were a further two of them
apart from me in the sci.electronics as was. I used Gripper Stebson for a
while but then BBC2 started showing repeats of the early Grange Hills a
few years ago and more people used the same name (Gripper Stebson was the
original GH bully). VBFG has stuck now. Most of my accounts on
various machines here at Bradford are called vbfg now.

David,
If you want to come along to Central Park to watch Wigan v Waires then let
me know.  It's not all ticket and should be a great game if Wires can keep
up the intensity of play they did against Bradford.  Then again they could
slump to the lows they did against Huddersfield.

Anyway let me know if you are coming to Central Park, it may be the last chance
you get as it's being turned into a supermarket in 2 years time.

Difficult to call, are Wire going to perform and do well, or just turn
up and get hammered...?
