The English RFU have once again proved themselves to be
a bunch of, to use what I believe was Will Carling's
expression, 'old farts.'

The RFU had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the
real world and are still dragging their heals where it
would be difficult for them to be challenged.

I would love to see Gallagher take them to court, if it
is possible to mount a legal challenge. Alternatively
he should play for a Welsh club. I'd love to see him show
some of the skills he had when he played for New Zealand.

It looks like he might play for an Irish RU club. He was
selected for Irish Exiles against Leinster at the weekend
but did not make it off the subs bench. Given that the Irish
RU authorities gave their blessing to this, I wonder if the
school which banned Gavin Gordon from playing RU might now
reverse its decision. Gordon had represented Ireland in the
Emerging Nations Rugby League World Cup.

The latest I heard was that the school and the Irish RFU had both backed down
and Gavin Gordon was back playing for his school, they seem to know a good
thing when they see it.
