Yes you may post mine along with my name - I required I can give more
personal examples of events which have happened to me.

Note...  I have posted this to the newsgroup & not you personally.

Note... Other postings on this subject are equally as 'bad' as mine .... or
worse!

Would you mind if I passed on your comments about Hull supporters to
the club and other interested parties?  I would not be interested in
passing on anonymous comments.

I will wait a week or so for your replies to tis request.

You may pass on my experience, which I'm sure you've already read.  This
sort of behaviour needs to be stamped out of our game, before it goes down
the same gutter as soccer did.  Maybe all incidents at all grounds should
be reported, not just Hull.  Even though Hull do seem to have more of a
problem than most, it must not start to become the norm in rugby league,
like it is in soccer.

Yes, pass them on. I have complained in this group on this matter. Hull
could be a a great club, but the fans they have at the moment don't
deserve any success. I hope the club can sort the problems out.

Complaints about Hull Sharks

Change the record for god's sake, I've just read two complaints about Hull
fans in this newsgroup, one by someone who's never been to the Boulevard
(but he's heard it's bad, so it must be true). And one by someone who had
no problems at all, but he heard you could. I admit there is an element of
bad behaviour, but let's not get too hysterical. In my experience it's no
worse than Headingley.

Are you speaking in any representative capacity?

Well, it seems to me you can take the easy way out and accuse everyone of
being oversensitive, or you can face up to the fact that there is a
problem with a large section of the crowd at the Boulevard.

I've been there twice in the last few seasons and I'm telling you, it's a
horrible place populated by extremely unpleasant people and stewards who
couldn't care less about the crowd behaviour.  Both times I felt I was
close to getting my head kicked in for doing nothing except being a
Huddersfield fan, the only times I have ever felt in actual danger at a
rugby match.  Oh and don't reply saying it was my own fault and I was just
getting a warm welcome, which is just the kind of infantile rubbish Hull
fans usually reply with, because that is absolutely the wrong attitude to
take.

Face it.  Hull have a problem.  It's not a big problem yet, but it could
damage the reputation of the whole game if they carry this problem into
Superleague. It needs action now.

There is no point complaining about Sharks eating the local population
of Hull - go out and find a Shark catcher!!!

It worked in Jaws.

Close the beaches!

Close the beaches!

Well I've been to the Boulevard, admittedly it's been a few years, but I felt very
uncomfortable. I was always looking around to see if I was going to be attacked
for shouting for Leeds. I'd think twice about going there and I certainly wouldn't
take the kids.

Headingley, by comparison is a peaceful oasis in the middle of the desert.

However the worst place I've been to is Post Office Road where the anti-semitic
jibes are at their worst. Especially from people who should know better like 60
year old pensioners. They are an obnoxious lot there.

Look,

I've been attending Post Office Road for over twenty years, and I've never
shagged any of my relatives. OK, none of them will have me, but that's not
the point............

Anyway,

I've been to The Boulevard on many occasions over the years and the worst I
have suffered is a bit of verbal abuse.  At many other grounds,
particularly Warrington, physical *** has been a much greater threat.

When the Sharks visited us recently, I was talking to a group of 'fish' at
half time who informed me that they had seen problems at their home ground.
My mum always told me that it takes two to make a fight,

hmmmm..........

Have to admit we very nearly got ***ed at Warrington the other
year. Proper headcases decided to start on us....there was a load of
banter with them calling us soft etc then it all spiralled out of hand
when one of them to my brothers mate "You're soft as shit, my sister
could have you."

With hindsight he perhaps shouldn't have said "Well she's had
everybody else!" but you live and learn I guess.

In all my years watching RL the worst fans I've come across were those
who followed Wire in the 80s. However, Warrington seemed to have got rid
of their yob element in recent years. The last two times I've been there
I've seen no trouble whatsoever. I don't know whether Warrington made an
effort to do something about the problem or if the scum have found
somewhere else to go. Maybe they were all deported to Humberside?

Hull fans outnumbered Workington fans at Derwent Park last week, despite
the awfull weather and long trip (We are further from Workington than
anyone else). Tevita said after the game, that "the desire to repay Hulls
fans was a major motivation" I suppose a winning bonus helps as well, but
it indicates the bond between players and fans, that is not quite the same
elsewhere. Are Hulls fans the greatest fans in the league?
