Hull Sharks - Hunte & Prescot offer

The Hull Daily Mail ( http://SportToday.org/)
Web pages report....

Hull's offer for GB duo is accepted

Saints stars are cleared to leave

HULL's offer for Great Britain internationals Alan Hunte
and Steve Prescott has been accepted by St Helens.
The sensational deal, believed to be worth 350,000, now
hinges on the Sharks agreeing personal terms with the players.
Second-row forward Simon Booth, who signed last week, is
also included in the package.  Saints chairman Eric Ashton
confirmed his board had accepted Hull's offer. He added: "They
have until next Tuesday to sort out personal terms."
Ashton would not confirm the size of Hull's bid, but said:
"Hull have made us an offer which we consider a good one.
"It is out of our hands now and down to the players. What
we have said, however, is that we want an answer by next Tuesday.
"We are not being difficult, but if these three players are
going then it is imperative that we begin the search to replace
them." Ashton also revealed that the deal doesn't hinge on all
three agreeing. He explained: "We have agreed a package, but
if one, or two parts, fall through then we're prepared to look
at it again."
The Saints boss said he had tried to persuade 27-year-old Hunte,
the Super League's joint top try-scorer last season, to stay but
he wants a move.  Having already tied up the Booth deal, Hull
are now talking to the GB duo's agents.  Tommy Cunningham, who
handles Hunte's affairs, hinted last week that personal terms
offered to his client by the Sharks were attractive.

In light of all of the above, I think you owe David
Lloyd an apology.

David,

I think I know a hell of a lot more than you do about what has gone on
at Hull, (note my surname).  After the threats that ***er and his
sidekick have made to my father I wouldn't***on him if he was on
fire.

Isn't it nice to see people get to the point quickly?

BTW, I don't supose you would like to enlighten us a little more?

(FWIW, I don't understand why they sell one centre to buy another unless Hunte
is rated higher than Vaikona which the Bulls don't seem to).

Hunte is better, but not by much. I can't understand the logic either. Replace
the fan's favourite player just before season pass sales, a player who is
totally devoted to the club, happy with his contract, just broken the clubs
post war try scoring record, and he's 22. Flog him for next to nowt, and get a
player who's past his best, who is only interested in the cash he can make and
pay over the odds for him......There must be more to this than meets the eye.
Tevita is starting to settle at Bradford now and he is very impressed with the
professional manner in which everything is conducted. It will be interesting to
see the reception he gets from the threepenny stand next season. It will be in
marked contrast to the one Schofield gets

He decided to better himself and leave. That really upsets Hull fans.:-)

Sorry if we've offended you 'SL Giants' by picking on your glorious
leader.  It's not that we're not over it, because I think we are now.
We've all had the counselling and are trying to cope with our sad loss
the best we can.  I for one will not chant another '***' or 'horrible'
word at Mr Schofield anymore now that you've spoken and I'll tell
everybody else at the Boulevard not to either:-7

Oh sorry... I've got to dash, the nurse has just brought my tablets and
I've got to get back to my padded cell :-(

Its nothing to do with 'getting over it' as you put it, it's just become
the norm and a bit of habit which we can't help doing, just like beating
the Giants was on all but one occasion last season :-))

Only joking....I'm already really looking forward to the new season and
welcoming everyone back to the home of RL, the Boulevard  :-))

Shouldn't that read home of RL, Huddersfield.  The Schofield thing was just
a joke, as you lot can't seem to stop trying to put down a great man.  When
instead you should be happy to have produced such a great talent.  Things
aren't looking so bad for Hull now, I thought after all the board room shit
that as happened over there, that the club would suffer.  Instead you
replace a good player with a great player, in Hunte. (Oh as he actually
signed yet?)  And you've strengthed your forward line too.

Good Luck, hope you finish one place behind the Giants.  Only joking, as if
that would happen.

What Garry did wrong, was to have a nightmare of a game on his next game back
at the Boulevard, following some orchestrated barracking by the threepenny
stand. It's become a bit of a tradition now, the crowd gets on his back, and
Schofeild has a bad game. I think he was a bit underhand in his contract
negotiations with Leeds whilst he was at Hull, but it's nothing that doesn't
happen week in week out, both by players and directors. Personally I think he's
okay, he had some good seasons at Hull.

I thought it was Hunslet schools RL who produced the great talent. Then Hull
signed the great talent on as a professional from under the noses of Leeds,
who ultimately ended up paying a small fortune for what they could have got
for a few quid from the amateur game in their own back yard.
