Just wondering

I know it looks a bit suspect, Dave, but as far as I understand things, it
all got a bit complicated,
with the Saints game at Huddersfield being played early.  The final totals
and positions are all correct,
but it seems WirralSaint had already added the results of that game, while
the points total for the week
is for the other 5 games

I`m maybe not explaining it well, but for example The Magician`s 14 plus 5
should be 19, but he tipped
Huddersfield, which was minus one...so 18

Er....that`s right, isn`t it....Wirral?

Yes we spotted this on Sunday and wondered how long it would take for
it to be picked up. There is definitely nothing wrong with the totals
or the ladder positions. The problem is the scores for the rounds. I
will re-do it below showing totals for Round 3 added to totals for the
two previous rounds. This will means that some points will have been
taken off previous total u had been given for Hudds v Saints game.
Then it will be added to the overall round score. There are nothing
underhand going on I can assure you. We have a master spreadsheet that
keeps tabs on tips and scores.

Ladder after Rd 3

Is it just me or is Joe Average's score far too high?

No, Andy....it`s not just you!

Seems very strange that "Joe Average" should be up there, ahead of even the
bookies.

But as WirralSaint put it, last week, the "collective wisdom" of the
newsgroup has
proved to be particularly correct so far this season in so many of the
closely-
tipped games, and has picked up loadsa points, whereas most other tipsters
have
got only a few games tipped correctly.

The bookies, on the other hand, have been getting it wrong, big-style!

The Bookies are only 3 points behind Joe Average, which isn't that far
behind. Last week the Bookies tipped two draws which seems unusual. I
can't remember them tipping a draw before, let alone two in the same
weekend. Neither game was a draw and so the bookies got -2 for those
two results. Also like most others they got the Catalan Leeds game
wrong and so got -3 before they picked up points from the other
matches.

In actual fact the tips by Joe Average are usually always very similar
to the Bookies. I have always been surprised that the Bookies usually
almost do so better than Joe Average.

Anyway we are all rooting for the 'average' guy.

Actually I've just realised how you calculate Joe Average, so it wouldn't be
linked to people's scores.
