I`m from Australia and have subscribed to Foxtel this year and will get to
see a few English RL games this year, but I`m not sure what the teams are
like, could someone please help me. And I`ll also be looking forward to
seeing some English teams over here. I`m a Brisbane Broncos fan so we will
be playing London, Wigan and Halifax, how do you think they will go against
the Broncos, I remember when Wigan came to Brisbane that was a great game
by Wigan they showed some great skills.

Castleford Tigers look like fish out of water.  ***ground, ***
attendances, they have only survived on their reputation and by spending
money they can't possibly be generating themselves.  Likely to go down.

IMO it will be Bradford Bulls who take the SL title, although I don't know
if they will be able to win the World League final (or whatever it's
called).  I also believe that PSG will start to show good form on the pitch
and could finish in the top 6.

It's difficult to predict how well the European teams will go. For one
reason, there are a good number of  imports from Oz and NZ to be fitted in.
For another, most players have had a break before going into full time
training for the first time.

I don't think the European teams as a whole will really threaten the
Southern Hemisphere sides. The players here still aren't fit enough to play
at Aussie speed. The real difference will be in defence.

Saints won well last year but have player troubles at the moment. Bradford
could build on last season but have a new manager. Warrington look to have
bought well - last season they veered from brilliant to daft. Leeds are
rebuilding but I doubt any of their fans are very confident that they won't
need Headingley's cricket score board when they play Oz teams. Salford are
rebuilding their pack around Andy Platt and John Cartwright, so may be go
better than expected. Paris are being almost totally rebuilt around
Aussies, like London. Castleford looked out of their depth last season, and
may well drown in '97.  Sheffield have a new management team and are
looking for new players, and like  Oldham might just be there to make up
the numbers

Wigan have looked a shambles administratively, and may not be the force
they were, but not many would bet against them doing the best of the
European sides. London have been training in Queensland, but we have no
news over here of anything, including player changes. Halifax beat Leeds in
a friendly, but out of those three I can only see Wigan troubling Brisbane.

I'd agree with this, but CAsleford may be saved from the drop by Oldham

We are advised by our knowledgable friends that the Aussie sides will
walk all over the English sides. However London will not lie down for
anyone, our problem is likely to be strength in depth. If we loose more
than four or five first team regulars we will start to look exposed.

Best SL sides are likely to be; Bulls, London, Saints and Wigan in that
order.

Actually, going back to an 'ancient' browser, the site is o.k.
Try Navigator 1.0 ! :>
