Wigan want Sanders

Post by wiganrl.. » Fri, 21 Mar 1997 04:00:00

I give up.  Just when things seemed to be settling down at Wigan they go
and announce that they are interested in some bloke from Bath as a
replacment for Edwards

Apparently he can't even hold his place at Bath, let alone play RL.

I think he played *** v Wigan in the RL cross code game but for Gods
sake if Edwards is going, please sign Smith and NOT some RU reject.

To our resident RU mole Steve, what do you know about this chap?  Is he
any good?

Dave

Very little, but I can tell you Bath is creaking under their wage bill,
in RU terms they have a massive squad and to be in the reserves at Bath
is as much of a plaudit as playing at the lesser courage one sides

I have an old Black and Decker orbital they can have.  Presumably this
is to help them build a new state-of-the-art stadium for 12m.  Or do
they just want to smooth down the pie counter in Tescos?  {:*)

(Look - I've had a bad day)

Forgive me, another cross coder interrupting, but if bath's reserves are
so great how come,
1. They're not winning all their first team matches any more, and
2. They've just had their manager sacked by the club chairman, a guy who
made his money drawing cute portraits of teddy bears holding hands ?
(Actually, as I type this, I realise that with a financial crisis, a
dodgy chairman, and a first team on the slide, anyone from bath will
feel right at home at Wigan / Horwich / No Fixed Abode warriors...)

Welcome friend.

Who said Bath's reserves (or first team) is good? Competition for places
at Bath was the issue not how well the team is playing.

Any ideas how many International players are on Bath's books?

Despite Bath's current demise Bath reserves would still give a decent
game to most teams in the bottom half of Courage One.

Can this be compared to that French guy at Wigan, Tallec? who got a
French cap grom Wigan reserves.
