NRL Premiership - Round 21 Draw

OK, 5 last week, let's see who I can***off this week! :)

I hate Auckland games.  Ya never know who's going to show up: the team that
beat Melbourne or the team that lost to the Gold Coast.  I lean towards
Auckland simply because they're at home.  Auckland by 4.

Quote:
>    CRONULLA vs ST GEORGE at Shark Park - 7.30pm

It's tough to beat the Sharks at the park in the dark, but the Dragons are in
red hot form.  I can see St George reappearing in the top 6.  Dragons by 8.

Quote:
> * Saturday, August 1st 1998

>    BRISBANE vs ADELAIDE at ANZ Stadium, Brisbane - 3.30pm

Adelaide have won 4 from their last 6, but the Broncos will be keen to return
to form.  Broncos by 30.

Quote:
>    GOLD COAST vs NORTH SYDNEY at Carrara Stadium, Gold Coast - 7.30pm

Norths by 40, simple as that.

Quote:
>    SOUTH SYDNEY vs PARRAMATTA at Sydney Football Stadium - 7.30pm

Souths played pretty well to beat the Cowboys last week, and Parramatta were
woeful against Canberra.  But even their most loyal fans wouldn't tip Souths
in this one.  Parramatta by 16.

Quote:
>    NEWCASTLE vs ILLAWARRA at Marathon Stadium, Newcastle - 7.30pm

Newcastle were abysmal last week.  But so was Illawarra.  Knights by 14.

Quote:
> * Sunday, August 2nd 1998

>    SYDNEY CITY vs MELBOURNE at Sydney Football Stadium - 2.30pm

Melbourne proved me, and just about every other tipster wrong last week
against Newcastle.  They played very well for 80 minutes and deserved their
win. However, the Roosters, at home, still smarting after Sunday's loss to St
George....Roosters by 16.

Quote:
>    MANLY vs BALMAIN at Brookvale Oval - 2.30pm

The Tigers showed more spirit than I've seen in a while to draw with the
Broncos.  Manly are in form, but with Sirro announcing he's leaving the club,
I think it's the spur to push Balmain into the finals.  Tigers by 6. (No
doubt I'll be hearing from Keefy)

Quote:
>    CANTERBURY vs WESTERN SUBURBS at Belmore Sports Ground - 2.30pm

Can Canterbury break 50?  Bulldogs by 30.

Quote:
>    CANBERRA vs PENRITH at Bruce Stadium, Canberra - 2.30pm

Canberra have returned to form, and they'll be keen to avenge their round 2
loss to Penrith.  Canberra by 12.

Chris

I think I had a shocker, refusing to tip Melbourne, blind loyalty to Canterbury,
Parra playing crap, Tiger spirit, my Wests stupidity, I will stop there and say I
had a shocker but I predicted Auckland's fall.

I made a motto never to tip or worry about Auckland again. They are playing a team
they should beat, so I tip North QLD.

St. George are specials. I'm surprised Cronulla are in the ten. Good coach I say.

I think the Broncos by 30. Only reason preventing me tipping them by more is
referee Hewitt. How long has it been since Hewitt been back in the top grade since
his biased performance at Paranoia v Auckland?

Can't go past the Bears. I think I had by 24.

Parramatta are not playing the best. With a bit of form now, I think the Bunnies
may win or go close but Eels by 6.

> >    NEWCASTLE vs ILLAWARRA at Marathon Stadium, Newcastle - 7.30pm

Illawarra were worse, so Knights at home, specials.

Roosters by 16 I agree exactly. Easts have a great habit of coming off a loss well
and Melbourne to put it simply are hopeless without Lazzo's go forward.

Manly are on a roll, if they can hold Balmain's tougher forwards, they should win.
It be a close and ripper game. Eagles by 2.

As a Canterbury fan, I am very nervous about this game. If Wests are ever going to
play well, it will be this game. There is more then just a football game at stake
here.

I've tipped us by one which means a blind loyalty tip. I can really see Wests
winning this one and get an edge in merger debate.

I noticed Penrith have a few players out following their win against Canterbury.
For that reason and the form of big names Stuart and Clyde, Raiders by 13+.

Matthew
