Up pops Maurice Lindsay to take home the piggy bank.

Well I don't know about any of you but sending 12 players home with
the side 1 nil down in a three test series to me is nothing more than
a disgrace!

By my reckoning that leaves Phil "Lard Head" Larder with a team of
seven*** with 3 players as backup.

Suicidal!!

I've heard they intend to use some of the Academy lads as back up,
well I'm sure the Kiwi's will be quivering in their boots!

You slog your guts out all season hoping you will win a tour spot
and what happens?

Just when it starts getting hot you get sent home in a cost cutting
excercise.

I'm as patriotic as the next man but if I were one of these twelve I'm
sorry but I wouldn't be accepting any more invitations to play for
my country again.

Why should I when I've got a dozen RU clubs knocking on the door - begging
to pay me a load of dosh for nothing.

If Lindsay hadn't been so busy filling up his expense account butting
his nose in in Australia every second week, he might have just found a
little time to find the GB side a sponsor, solving most of these problems
in one swoop.

This tour must now go down in history as the biggest disaster of all time.

First we have a coach who hasn't got a clue, a man who blames everbody
else but himself for the teams bad results.

He was at it again this week, sledging the second-string side for their
"stupidity".

Hey Phil this is the best second-string side which has left these shores
in many a year, doesn't this tell you something about your coaching
skills??

Then we have my old enemy John Kear, this man has the best set of kids
any coach could hope for, what happens - they get walloped.

And just to put the top hat on it ML decides to cut the squad up with
a carving knife.

I'm all for not wasting money but in this case the RFL should have stood
the loss, it might have been painful but hey nothing could be as bad
as having your sports financial difficulties made public on every
TV and Radio station in the country.

What a shambles!

Three of the players are injured, but I agree with the point

The worst thing about this is that Powell is staying out there!

What good has he actually done, in your opinion, for the game?

He should be able to pick a losing side from that lot why waste the
other 12.

... or how about a piece of RL management

Castleford, West Yorkshire, England.

The difference between genius and stupidity:  Genius has limits.

Hey buddy, PNG scored more tries than us when we played them, they only
lost due to a ***goal-kicker, that IMO puts us 4th on the world ranking
list.

Mind you it could be a lot worse.

We could have lost to Tonga and W. Samoa as well if we had played em.

Not quite Michael. In Europe, News merely provides the money,
Maurice Lindsay and the lads still run the show as they always have. And
this tour just goes to show (all together now) that Maurice Lindasy and
the lads still run the show as they always have. The lack of financial
competence that has pervaded the administration of British RL for years
has not changed even though the amount of money has. No amount of trying
to shift the blame onto Murdoch (for points scoring purposes) will change
that. Perhaps if the show actually was run by News (ie. in a professional
busness manner) then European football would be a bit better off.
Michael, if you wish to judge News Ltd's ability to run a
competition why don't you wait until they actually run one? (ie. until
they run their own Australian competition next season) Surely that'd be a
bit fairer than judging them on the actions of others? That is of course
assuming you're willing to be fair.
