Parramatta Eels to win the Mighty ARL comp in 1996

Parramatta eels will go very well in the one and only real comp in
1996.  The SL is super by no stretch of the imagination.  Only
Brisbane, Canberra, and Canterbury are any good.  And Canterbury have
lost there 4 best players to Parra in 1996.

Ha.  I think Arthurson might have something to say about that.  For once
Manly might actually win something.

That's debatable.  If the ARL is so good why hadn't an ARL side won the
Winfield Cup since Manly in 1987.  Both comps have bad teams but at least
the SL has just about all the class players and *** teams over the
past 8 years.  How much credibility has the ARL got when Paul Harrogan is
suppoesdly your marquee player?

And only Manly from the ARL is in the same class.  The Auckland Warriors
and Sharks were certainly better than most of the ARL sides last year
except Manly and Newcastle.

Parramatta have undergone a gutting over the past few years and it will
take another few years before they are truly championship material again.
