South Wales " Back - Tracked "

I've just heard the news that South Wales will not after all be fast
tracked into the Super League next season. Apart from feeling pretty
dissapointed for the expansion plans of League as a whole , I think the
whole stop start  Will they ? , wont they ? affair as yet again been a
massive embarrasment by the Rugby Football League .
. Although I can well understand the RFL .s reasoning (we didn,t need
another Fulham), I think that it was now or never for League in Wales.
with the League stars going back in floods the popularity for union is
bound to increase , as it seems to have in England of late. I hate being
negative about our great game , I just hope I,m proven wrong.
I can just hear the s***s from the Union boys !

It would have been an even bigger embarrasment if they had let S Wales
in and they had folded due to lack of funds.

S Wales couldn't put their money where there mouth was apparantely.

I agree with both of the above statements and also think that SW would
have been an embarrassment on the field, the reason stated by ML as to why
they are not going up.

Even if South Wales had the cash, as may well be the case with other
potential new "franchises", they did not have, and could not get hold of
the players to make them competitive.

Paris select from what is effectively the French national squad and London
have an unlimited overseas quota.  Neither of these options are open to
other new clubs.

There are not enough extra overseas players available for them to "do a
London" and there is certainly not a pool of *available* talent to build a
new team with lying around.

So, does this mean when the next "new" club comes along demanding to be
fast tracked into SL, the SW scenario will be repeated?
