Rugby League Supporters' Association AGM

The 1998 RLSA AGM is on Saturday 18th April, from 12 noon, at the SWAN &
RAILWAY public house, 80 Wallgate, Wigan (the pub is open from 11.30am)

Food is available (lunch special costs 2.50) and overnight bed & breakfast
accomodation can be booked with the pub for 15.

Directions:

From Wigan North Western Railway Station - pub is directly opposite.

From Wigan Wallgate Railway Station - turn tight out of the main exit and
the pub is approx 50 yards down the street.

From Wigan Bus Station - short walk, follow signs for Railway Station.

From Motorway - head for Wigan town centre and follow signs for Railway
Station. Plenty of parking nearby, at the Station or side streets further
down Wallgate.

You don't have to be a member of the RLSA to attend, and you can join on the
day if you wish.

Does the RLSA speak with one voice on:

    summer rugby

    who should negotiate the Sky contract ? ( and Neil Tunnicliffe was
saying on the radio last Sunday that the contract is currently being
renegotiated)

    how and where ( even whether) expansion clubs should be created?

    how amateur, first and second, and SL clubs should be fitted into one
structure?

( I'm not making any points - it's an honest enquiry, as I've never really
paid much notice to the organisation.)

That's a good starting point for anyone who wants to know more about the
RLSA generally, along with its sister site (my baby! See link below, do
visit, often!!) which is the online version of the RLSA fanzine "The
Greatest Game!", plus loads of other RL stuff too.

The online edition will be updated soon (oh god, more work!), as a new issue
of the mag has just been published, and jolly good it is too. Buy it now,
everybody :-)

By the way, don't tell a soul, but Neil Tunnicliffe is a former member of
the RLSA, and the RFL's official historian, Tony Collins, was a founder
member. The infiltration has begun in earnest!!
