Well I would if they ever get their site to work with Netscape!  I can
cope with not being able to use the menu map (lazy codeing if you ask
me) But as for not being able to display the news details while using
netscape come on.  If you can display the headlines what are you doing
to deny access to the details.  I hate to say it but the Bulls Site is
much better (come to that I can think of quite a view sites I would
rather vist then Wigan's and Iam a Wigan Fan

Phew that feels better ...

Well for once the site had the story before the Sporting Life :-).

However having just looked at that site it says the finance director has gone
as well  !!!.  That leave the new bod chairman and Phil Clarke as the smallest
board in SL.

Just what is going on?

The company rules say that two directors are needed to sign on a new chairman.
So a temp directorsship was given to Dave Whelen's son-in-law Duncan Sharpe.

He and Phil then swore in Peter Norbury and Sharpe will step down once Peter
in in place as charman officially.  Shapre will be the chairman of
Wigan Athletic (Spit) when they move to the new JJB stadium in August 1999.

Norbury is expected to appoint tow new directors to make up a four man
board asap.

PS. I could update the web site once per month and still be more up to date
than Mike's confusing wigan-warriors.com site ?

I was only joking hence the smiley!

Mind you it would be nice if the site was always first with the news - you will
have to get yourself a full time job at Wigan.

Well I hope so after hearing the interview going home last night on GMR it
sounds as if Norbury intends to leave it all to Phil Clarke to run the club on
a day to day basis leaving him (Norbury) as a figurehead.

When asked about his appointment he made all the usual noises about exciting
times, challenges etc and when asked about what the challenges were all he
could think of was moving to the new ground.

When asked was he a long time supporter of Wigan he answered no, he used to
follow Oldham (at least that is something I guess) but now he was a fan!

I assume the club will need a new financial director as well - lets hope they
get someone decent.

As to Nolan, it does seem he was the director who put a stop to Monies wish to
sign more antique Antipodeans (Horrow springs to mind) so if the rumours are
true that he left over the Goldspink affair then that is a worry.

I have the same trouble with netscape and the Wigan site. Can't use the
graphical menu, and some times, just the headine appears with no text.

Come on Mr. Wigan Webmaster - can't you try it out on a few different
browsers for non IE users?

However, a bit of fiddling with the URL gets results. Try:

I try the web site on and win95 pc with
NS 3.01, IE4.0 and NS4.03.

And on a WFW3.11 pc with
NS 3.01, NS4.03, IE 3.01

And finally IE4.01 on a win98 system.

The menu system works fine oin IE4 browsers, and the plain text menu
works fine on IE4 and NS browsers.

You can't ask for more testing than that.  That must cover most people.

Pheww....

It dies on it's arse with Lynx on my Sun. Javascript - yuck. You'd get
better cross platform compatibility if you required your readers to wear
3D specs.
