Dewsbury Rams 12  18  Castleford Tigers

The new styled Rams put on an excellent show to make Castleford look like a
First Division, rather than a SL side, and were only denied a share of the
spoils by a very suspect decision which disallowed a last gasp try.

Throughout the game Dewsbury were the equals of Cas, who will surely be
struggling in SL if they cannot raise their game when they meet the likes
of Wigan and Saints.  The Rams performance was only let down by the number
of handling errors, although to be fair these only came about as a result
of their desire to throw the ball around.  New boy Brett Patterson
excelled, scoring a try on his debut and making his presence felt in both
attack and defense.

All in all, an excellent game which proved that coach Neil Kelly's ambition
to finish in the top 6 has some substance to it.
