How did those losers England RU get the team of the year, what about
GB RL, or are they from the wrong end of the country for the BBC.

Suppose we should be glad RL got a fleeting mention

Does anyone actually watch that rubbish programme?  I had no idea the
England RU team had got team of the year, and to be honest I don't really
care.

RL has always been the under-dog at international level, so it really
doesn't surprise me.  If we could fill Twickers or Wembley for an GB RL
International then we might be in contention.

Well, to be fair, who did we beat and what were the crowds?

Immagine what they'd have got if they had won something

Got to be honest bro, the sports personality things are not really a
barometer by any means.
But as far as the RU team being "losers" - I think they did incredibly well
to turn it all around during one RWC compaign. Their year has been a
frustrating one as a fan etc. but they did make the RWC worth watching as
one of the "stories", Argies being another.

Now, much as I love watching RL, the internationals don't tend to be as much
fun for me as the actual club games in the super league. Plus I think its
fair to mention that typically a RL world cup works in the way that the
Aussies will win it every time, with England or GB doing well right up until
they meet those in the semi or the final etc. Not a great deal of surprises
really.

Got to agree.  I'd actually be more inclined to watch an international
touring team playing a club side, rather than the GB international lot.

I'm afraid RL at international level is far too one-sided to generate any
real interest, and the fragmentation of the GB team into England, Ireland,
Scotland and Wales (with England providing 90% of the players for each) will
do little to generate a more competitive situation.

If I've to watch international rugby, then it's the England RU team for me.

Sorry!

John.
