This is not sour grapes, I must state that as, people might think so.
People talk about the minority of Hull fans, been badly behaved, but its no
minority.  The 3 penny stand fans, were all abusive to players and fans a
like.  I was unfortunate enough to stand in front of these mindless idiots.
Listening to their stupid chants, about Schofield.  You'd think he'd
***ed someone, they way they reacted to him.  All he did was leave the
club to further his career.  Then when my side finally scored, a cheered,
but not for long as a few Hull fans shooved me in the back.  I turned a
round to see two stewards stood right next to theses fans, the stewards
took absolutely no notice as these fans tuanted me and my younger sister.
Family game, not their it isn't.  So for the second half I moved round to
the stand opposite.  Only to have two Hull fans with their little kids
stood with them, eyeballing me constantly and shouting *** this and ***
that.  What sort of human behaves like that with their kids in presence.
Well its the first and last time I ever go to that hell hole again.

By the way I feel so sorry for those Hull fans who go and support the club
and watch the match, who aren't idiots.  Having to put up with and be
embarassed by their thugs.  Oh and laughingly enough, their chairman, wrote
in the program about how the regulars and faithful, should report the badly
behaved that are leaking into rugby.  The ones causing the trouble were
wearing shirts, in the 3 penny stand which is for regulars, and knew a lot
about the game.

Finally I would like to congratulate Hull for a great performance, and only
wish my side had played with the same commitment.

Things can change.  We have a bad reputation down at Featherstone, but we
are trying to nip it in the bud.  The troublsome Bullock Shed has gone
and has been replaced with a 1/2 million pound family stand.  Is P.O Road
the best of the 'traditional', club owned ground in any league?.  I
challenge you to find better.

Martin.

The officials at Hull are trying to stamp out bad support.  However, if
at an away match you stand in the home crowds' regular stand, you can
expect rivalry ( I don't mean ***, that is intolerable). It happens
at every ground, not just the Boulevard.

As a life long Hull fan I agree totally with you about bad language at
rugby games in general (not just at the Boulevard), and the quicker these
morons discover than thier behaviour is unacceptable in our great game the
better. As for Sco'ey, he's never had a good game at the Boulevard since
he left, it's nothing personal but I suspect that whilst he keeps having
nightmares at the Boulevard the fans will keep on his back, it's the name
of the game. That goes for any team coming to the Boulevard, we don't want
it to be an enjoyable experience for thier players. As for the fans, that
is a different matter, however may I suggest you don't stand in the
threppenny stand for the time being.

There's a big difference between rivalry and abuse.  I spent 4 years in
the Popular Stand at Central Park and never heard anyone slagging off

Please ignore the above, which got posted instead of being abandoned,
probably because I was well and truely slaughtered at the time, hence
the quality of the rest of my postings last night.  I do apologise...

<< People talk about the minority of Hull fans, been badly behaved, but its

Hull has been like this as long as I can remember (1970 onwards)
Count yourself lucky not to get pissed on - thats one of their favorite
tricks...
And yes you are right - it is the majority that are scum and the minority
who are decent.

<<  The 3 penny stand fans, were all abusive to players and fans a

Like the rest of us - you only go in there the once !

Scum - thats what.... Trouble is, this is the 'norm' for some people & its
hard to get your head round this. Best thing would be to create a scum
league for Hull & Leigh so they can fight each other every week.

PLEASE GOD DON'T LET HULL GET PROMOTION

Super League will get taken back to the 70's by this lot.....

When I go and watch Wigan, I stand with the away fans (kop) and enjoy a
bit of banter plus a chat at half time.

I sense a difference between what I experience at Wigan and what others
experience at Hull.  I have never been to a game at Hull but it seems too
much of a coincidence  that so many people seem to report such bad
behavior.

I experience friendly rivalry, what people seem to be reporting here is
down right hostility more akin to the ***associated with soccer in the
seventies.

Whenever somebody on this group goes to a game at the Boulevard we get
postings like this.  Other clubs, such as Featherstone, have made serious
and quite successful attempts to tackle this sort of problem.  But not
Hull.  Why not?  These scum are dragging the club and the town through the
dirt.

To be fair, I have to admit that I've been to Hull twice in the last 18
months and been in the old stand (the sitting-down part) and not found any
real problem with bad behaviour/foul language there.  On the other hand, I
have witnessed one or two ugly scenes with Hull fans at Cougar Park.  So
whether it's a minority or not I'm not sure, I suspect it is, but a
significant minority nonetheless.

Personally, I hope that Hull do get promoted because (a) my team won't
have to play them, and (b) when they start to get the greater publicity
that goes with a place in Super League the powers-that-be might compel the
club to get the matter sorted.  Even the commentator on BBC local radio
referred to the atrocious behaviour that Matt described during the
Huddersfield match.  If the media can highlight it a bit more, then
something might get done.

Problem with media policing is that it can influence a lot of people.
The fear of trouble at a London game would keep a lot of potential fans
away.
