As far as I can recall we were third from bottom - be fair.

I was rather pleased about that myself.

Nobody other than Huddersfield fans seem to realise this but we have a
new chairman, Ken Davys ( I think thats how you spell his name - but it
doesn't look right ).  He owns DBS Finicial Consultants - the largest
independent finicial consultancy in the country ( this is turning into an
ad! )  and has wodges of cash coming out of his ears.  He bought
Schofield, and it was partly due to his arrival that DVDV joined the club.

We were robbed by Salford.  Even Andy Gregory admitted they shouldn't
have won.  I didn't see the Keighley match as I had to come back to
Oxford, but my mates say it was a close match, as the scoreline suggests.
( Actually they said we were a bit crap, but that Keighley were not much
better! )

We may well have won all four if we had a decent goal kicker.

This is a bit of a shame, I'll admit.  We do have Steve Booth, who is
extremely good, but he's only about 18.  Much quicker than Schofield.
And he can almost kick goals.

I would be astonished if this happened, because:

A) The club was reformed about 2 years ago, with no debts at all.
B) We don't need to spend any money on ground facilities - we have the
best ground in the country - so all Murdoch money goes wherever the
directors want it to go, rather than to ground refurbishment.
C) The calibre of the board.  Our chairman made a fortune out of finance
consultancy, so he must know what he's doing.
D) Profit from non rugby sources - the Bryan Adams concert this year, the
REM concert last year.  Fartown have a 20% share in the stadium, and a
20% share in its profits.  It lost money last year due to construction
cost, but will make increasing profits from now on, especially when the
fourth stand is built this year.

Fartown is probably the most financially stable club in the league.
We're certainly in better shape than Keighley, Widnes, Wigan, Leeds,
Workington(!), Warrington, Hull, Castleford, Halifax.

A rich bloke - who knows what hes doing

Well, we've just lost our best player - it's a bit gutting.  THe only one
who's remotely happy about it is Steve Booth.

Or Blackburn, or Newcastle.

If all the above is untrue, and we go bust next week, then please don't
laugh at me. After all, I'm only a fan, nobody tells us anything if they
can possibly help it.

Fair enough. Oops. Sorry.

Robbed implys cheated but to be honest while Huddersfield were the
better team and impressed me immensely Salford still came out on top. As
did the Cougars. Games you have to win. You'll struggle to get away
points at either side which means you'll probably drop at least 8 points
to major promotion contenders.

I couldn't actually believe old Ugly was kicking your goals anyway. He
was never much cop. Seemed to be he was expected to do it cos he cost a
lot of money.

<SNIP>

But does it all count for nothing if you don't get up this year and they
s***promotion/relegation after one year? I suppose having said that if
that's the case you may as well go for it.

I really hope it doesn't backfire. I'm not meaning to sound vindictive.
Just realistic.
