Can anyone elaborate on the report I read in the Sydney Morning Herald
a couple of days ago which just said that John Joyner is considering an
offer to coach the Western Reds next season???
Thanks,
Matt.

Thanks,

The club say he has had no offical offer.
Speculation is that it may hinge on what the structure of the League will
be in the UK. I guess that means if there is a chance of promotion for his
team to SL next season , or they get fast tracked into SL he is more
likely to stay.
They are, IMO, unlikely to be fast tracked, but if the structure of the
league next year is changed they could possibly find themselves in SL, if
the League reverted to two divisions.

The report I read said Joyner was staying with Cas (who are already in the
SL, Dave) until the end of 1997. I think you are correct about VDV.

Good riddance to him say I. I am sick to death of his boring, sterotypical
Aussie crap. Let's have a coach who wants to play a bit at the Mac.

He signed a one year extension to his contract with Castleford the other
week. There was some speculation about it but it seems to have fallen by
the wayside now.
Daryll Van de Velde seems to be the latest scalp for the Reds.
