Bobbie Goulding - try justifying more money now.

I know the man himself won't read this, but....

Oh dear Bobbie.  I'd love to be a fly on the wall this week when you talk
to the board, trying to get a bit more dosh for your "in-dispensible"
services to the Saints.  I look forward to you taking a pay cut or
joining another club (with ? match suspension in tow).  Do you think all
of St. Helens is behind you now?

Oh, also, if WiganRLfan is reading this (which is more likely) - what was
it you said about Saints without Goulding?

Adam.

I don't understang. Goulding swings at Cowie. Goulding gets sent off.
and you say the two are not linked?

I think what Adi meant was that it was irrelevant whom Goulding hit -
i.e. he was sent off for a dangerous foul which happened to be against
Cowie, rather than specifically for a dangerous foul against Cowie.
Whichever way you interpret it, Goulding deserves (and will get) at
least a four match ban. That ought to improve Saints chances in the
Cup, judging by the second half on Saturday.

...and reads my postings.  Yes, I started this thread (Monday) - aimed at
Bobbie - pointing out what a dire position he was in to re-negotiate his
contract.  Lo and behold, on Tuesday Bobbie has read it and decided to
stay!

Only now will everyone realise the power of this Newsgroup.

Apart from now Bobbie has a well deserved 8 match ban to help him
negotiate, and is 500 pounds worse off.
That meanes he will miss the start of SL and not play in the SCCC
again unless Saints get to Wembley.  That will not happen if a
disorganised Saints meat a committed and prepared team in the SCCC,
unlike Wigan last week.

It also means that he will be a target form other teams to wind up,
and that;s all to easy with Bobby. They know he will either back down
and be less effective or risk a further fine and ban for fighting again.

I remember when Goulding 1st left central park.  From the sidelines
Edwards, Hanley and Gregory could clearly be heard winding up Bobby
until he snapped.

There was a hint of sarcasm in my posting.

I don't think so.  All of you Wiganers seem to think that St. Helens RLFC
consists of only Bobbie Goulding.  Well, I'm afraid not.  What I think
you meant to say was "I HOPE it won't happen" about Saints getting to
Wembley.

That used to be the case with Bobbie.  However, since he joined Saints
he's been pretty well immune to getting wound up.  He's just concentrated
on his game, and ignored all the wind-ups.  Yes, he did lose it last
week, but all players do now and again (e.g. Farrell?)  I'm under know
illusions about what Bobbie is like, but he has, on the whole, learnt to
control himself.
