Saints have been (reportedly) after Stan for quite a while now, but then again
so have Sheffield, Hull, Halifax etc. He did have a chance to move to Sheffield
last year but turned it down to honour his contract with Rovers (he has 1 year
remaining). Whether that was really the case, or whether the personal terms
where not up to scratch, I don't know.
By the way, he is'nt that good a player (in my humble opinion). He is an
excellent 1st division player, but I'm not sure how he'd perform in the Super
League. Although he's played much of the season with niggling injuries, when
good defensive sides (like Dewsbury) get to him quickly and pressure him, he
tends to get caught in possesion too easily. He can be a bit of a bottle neck.
