West Sacked as Wigan Coach

Can't believe it, but yes its true.

Top story on GMR this morning.

He gave an interview in which he was very calm and attributed his dismissal to the fact Wigan have missed out on Wembley two yesrs in a row.

If thats why they dismissed him then Ribinson and the board are barking mad.

In the era where all clubs have gone pro even I don't expect Wigan to win everything year in year out.

I think he was offered Joe Lydons old job, director of football, but turned it down as he wants to carry on coaching elsewhere.  If anyone else has heard this I would be greatful for confirmation.

Rumour is Eric Hughes will take over.

All I can say is,  thanks Graham West for 14 years of loyal service to the club.

Dave.

Here Here It certainly brings the truth to the saying "Beat Saints and get
to Wembley and you'll be OK".
IMO and with hindsight the writing was on the wall when Hughes  joined the
club.
My personal opinion is Hughes is in the nice guy mode the same as Westy
when what we need is a harder coach like Brian Smith who we should of had
after Monie. While Smithy was at Hull.
Also a thankyou to Westy,  and here's wishing Eric Hughes the best of
luck. And Finally heroes hoping Jack Robbing Son is next.
