A thought about Wigan wanting chairman out..

I'm not claiming credit for this, I heard it on GMR yesterday, but I
can't remember who said it (Staff or phone in)

The protests at Wigan are reminiscent of those seen a couple of seasons
ago at Man City. The fans got their way, even getting their choice to
replace him. How much has changed since the change of chairman? very
little. Wouls Ousting Jack Robinson actually acheive much, other than a
change of name at the top? or would it be a case os meet the new boss,
same as the old boss?

Discuss!

Quite a lot changed with the arrival of Franny Lee but obviously not
all has been for the best. The thing that got most City fans down
(myself included) is that Lee came in promising millions to buy a new
team and then said the debts of the club were far greater so he
couldn't then afford it.

The turmoil of last season (with the million managers in a fortnight)
was disgraceful although things off-field are finally beginning to
settle down by the looks of things but it's taken nearly five seasons
to get this far and I remember the demonstrations last October outside
Maine Road against Franny Lee.

The money does now seem to be available again now though.

Fan power is dangerous because you never know the ins and outs of any
club. Better the devil you know in many cases, exhibit A =  Keighley.

Not unless the replacement was some sort of multi-millionaire with cash to burn
on his hobby akin whats-his-name who took over Blackburn Rovers soccer club.

Now his arrival there made a difference.

I don't see that happening at Wigan though, especially as the mystery men
currently touted are only supposed to be temporary.

However if you include into the equation the future location of the club many
would swap JR for a clone (or worse) if the clone keeps the club at CP.

Me? I am undecided.  I don't like the way the current board are handling the CP
issue or the finances but I don't see a creditable alternative.

If JR & Co could convince me they had a realistic chance of staying in Wigan
(not necessarily at CP) then I would leave em alone since there is no
*creditable* alternative.

As it stands I don't feel I can support the board or the alternatives that
appear to be being offered.

We are doomed,..... DOOMED, .......DOOMED I say!

I would feel a lot happier if names were named, and details disclosed,
but the current position look a bit like a group of fans emptying their
pockets to see how much they can collect.

I think if I stood up and said I would keep Wigan aat CP I would
instantly be the fans choice, even if I did not say where the money was.

Same position as me (as you can probably guess). They could do themselves
a favour by coming out into the open about what the plans actually are,
and how they will be financed.

If the current board goes, I want a permanent replacement from day one. I
do not like the idea of a caretaker chairman. There will be NO investment
under that regime. Someone taking over financial control of the club in
that manner feels to like the receivers being called in.

I wouldn't go that far!
