Aloha,
I see a lot of posts on here touting one pro team over another. I understand
that we all have our favorite teams, etc., but why are we discussing pro ball
on the college ball newsgroup?

You have to understand, just because a team pays its players, it
doesn't mean it's off-topic in this chat room.  Teams like Alabama,
Florida State, and Texas, are still college teams, and there's no
reason people shouldn't be touting them here.

Aloha,
OK, you may claim that many college teams pay their players. It may or may not
be true.
That does not explain the posts about the Raiders, Seahawks, or the Pittsburgh
squealers.

The Oklahoma small-mindedness of any football talk outside of OU rears
its ugly head again.

Blame yourself Larry... your brought up a HS team (Midland -vs-
Baylor) & therefore opened the floodgates for football-talk of all
levels.   Way to go.

Excuse me?  Those *are* all college teams: the East Carolina Raiders,
the Iowa Seahawks, and the Pittsburgh Panthers.  You don't mean to
tell me that you thought we were talking about those NFL TEAMS, do
you?

And quit calling me Aloha.

Aloha Carl,
You explained away the Raiders, and the Seahawks. That still does not explain
the thread about the Denver fans being psychotic for the Bronco's to win. It
doesnt say a thing about the Steelers.
Yes, I was talking about NFL stuff being on here. I don't mind NFL stuff, on
the pro football newsgroup. I am not sure it belongs here.

Maybe you should try learning what all the team mascots are.  Just
because an NFL team has a certain mascot doesn't mean there aren't
college teams with the same one.  It can be confusing, but almost any
knowledgeable fan can learn to tell the difference.

The Broncos are from Boise State, of course.  Their head coach is
named Denver, and, yes, I agree that any fans who worship a head coach
are psychotic.

As for the Steelers, nobody's mentioned the Steelers on this chat
room.  You probably are confusing them for the Panthers.

Well, this is the place to be.  All of the (football) talk here on
RSFC has been about college; we are not interested in the NFL here.

It belongs here more than any of the political stuff or latest Centex
arguments. It does say rec.sport.football.

So it's all good.

No, she's Bill McCartney's daughter, and anyone who sleeps with the college
football team is fair game.
