The Old club songs

I read the messages under  Newbie Questions, and everyone seems to hate the
old club songs.
I LOVE EM.  There is nothing like belowing out your clubs song like
Cheer cheer the black and the white,
Honour the magpie day and by night.

That always sends a shiver up your spine.
The new ones aren't to good.
West Coasts is shocking
Brisbane BEARS song was laughable
Adelaides is just stupid
Freos goes for 20 minutes and is bluddy disgraceful
and Ports isn't too bad, but not that good either.

The old ones rock

I'll never forget coming home from the MCG in a tram in '94 after the Eagles
had won  our second flag from the pathetic Geelong. Two drunken slobs started
picking on our ***age daughters and were ragging them about singing all the
words of the Eagles' song. Let me tell you MAccA our euphoria about taking home
the WEG, poster buying all the memorabilia on the Sunday after the match and
proudly wearing the blue and the gold far outweighed knowing all the words of a
song. The only singing we did was "Happy Birthday" to Gary Ablett every time he
got near the ball in the last quarter and that wasn't that often either. As
Mick might say the club song won't win you any games.

Did I say it would win you any games?   NO.
All I said was that the older club songs are better than the new ones.
