Cub Foods sponsors the Chicago Cubs......

.....but Cub's major "Hub" in not in Illinois, but Minnesota.

Furthermore, Cub has stores in Wisconsin, but mainly outstate, and
nothing in Milwaukee.

Also, a few outlets in Iowa, and one last maverick store just outside
of Dayton, Ohio (but no stores in Indiana).

Has Cub ever bought out any chains?

Cub themselves haven't bought anyone out...but it should be noted that Cub Foods
is owned by SuperValu...who IIRC is the largest wholesale grocer in the U.S....

I remember eating at a Froggie's in central Texas. They had a good chicken
fried steak.

I used to use at Cub when they were in Toledo.  Five long years at that
place.  Topped out in pay and they close two weeks later.  What is up with
that?

They used to have stores in Milwaukee, but they are all closed now.  I
guess Pic N Save ran them out of the market, as they recently did
Kohls.

The former Cub near me is now a Jewel/Osco.

Incidentally, I used to live in Minneapolis, and Cub owns that market.
