If that's representative, they should qualify for a BCS spot - it'll be
interesting, with several contenders and several scenarios (my
understanding is that Stanford could now end up at #4 and not be
automatically in, for some reason), it should be an interesting
selection show tonight.

OSU climbed to within 32 pts of Alabama - yesterday they were saying if
they could get to within 30, they'd probably just get there, overall.
Gonna be scary close.

Is this a case where they beat OU too impressively - OU dropped all the
way from 10 to 19 (by comparison, Georgia dropped from 13 to 18, and
VTech dropped from 3 to 11).

i think an assumption was that okstate would win all the computers or
would only lose one....what Im hearing so far is that Okstate lost
both wolfe and sagarin. If thats true, and with those coaches numbers,
okstate has to win the harris poll outright....

32 Coaches points is 0.5423 places.  Even if four of the computers
have Oklahoma State ahead of Alabama (assuming all of them have them 2
and 3 in either order), that's only 0.5 places difference (2-2-2-3 is
2.25; 3-3-3-2 is 2.75), so the Harris poll would have to have Oklahoma
State ranked #2 - and keep in mind that, while Alabama was 4 votes
short of being ranked #2 by everybody, Oklahoma State was 1 vote short
of being ranked #5 by everybody (although VT was ranked above them, so
that's one team out of the way...still, will there be anybody who
still thinks Stanford should be ranked above Oklahoma State?).

(By the way, if five or six computers have Oklahoma State #2, that
means Alabama has to be at least 0.4577 Harris poll places ahead; if
all 115 pollsters have Alabama and Oklahoma State 2 and 3, 84 of them
would have to have Alabama #2.)
