did anyone catch that little business on espn sportscenter last night, where
dan patrick was trying to shut chris myers up to try to announce something
between commercial breaks.  myers was heard saying something like, "i mean,
think about it:  he has never had a pro-bowl wide receiver..." when dan shut
him up, said his thing, and then said, "okay, you were saying,"  and then
myers said the same thing as the commercial rolled.

should we assume that the qb myers was talking about was elway?  has denver
ever had a pro-bowl receiver.  hasn't marino had clayton and duper at
different times?  certainly rice and i think also taylor and dwight clark
have been to the pro bowl.  reed has been there for kelly.  i suppose he
could have been talking about hostetler (or others), but why?

and just a bit more fuel:  dan patrick opened the show by saying, "this
battle of future hall-of-fame qbs".  presumptuous or no?

The Donkeys had Rich Jackson in the late 60's who went to the pro-bowl and hall
of fame, but nobody since.

Didn't any of the "3 Amigos" go to the probowl in Denver's superbowl
year?  (This is a question, not a reply to the thread)

Well, Steve Watson surely went to the pro bowl in '81 since he nearly
led the league in pass receptions.  Interestingly, I think him and
another player (Falcs Alfred Jenkins?) had the exact same amount of yards.
I can't remember if he was All-pro or not but he did have that one incredible
year.  (I could be wrong but not by much.)
And I'm almost positive Vance Johnson went at least once and maybe twice
(the second as a last minute substitute).  Maybe Gary Strand will tell us.

No.

These guys should both be shoes in in their first year of eligibility for
the HOF.

Also, if the NFL sent WR trios to the Pro-Bowl, instead of voting on
individuals, I'm sure that the "Three Amigos" from the '87-'89 seasons would
have played at some time.  That was one of the best WR trios in the
NFL.  However, the NFL just doesn't work this way.
