I am one Canadian who is *not* proud of our Gold Medal team.  You know
why?  We have a bunch of potty mouths who don't care about teaching a
good lesson to our children.

First, after Steve Yzerman was called for a penalty during the third
period, he obviously yelled to the ref "F*ck you!"  Great job "Stevie
Y"...my ten year old son can read lips and thought it was cool.

Next, after we score our fourth goal, they show Wayne Gretzky
celebrating...however he just could not celebrate...he had to say "F*ck
yeah!!"  Again, thank you.

I am ashamed!!  I would rather have seen us lose than see this
horrendous display!  You think we could have won, and kept our language
clean...I guess that is not possible for today's Canadian athlete.

Do us all a favor and turn in your medals and stay on that side of the
border guys....

Jon

I just got off the cell phone with a close friend who was at the arena when
Wayne spoke. What he heard with his own ears was the word "Fudge" not the
word that you slanderously accuse him of saying. You owe the Great One an
apology for your disgraceful slander

Get a life pal.  I'm sure your son has heard worse on the playground.

That's a bunch of baloney and you know it!  You just can't admit that
"The Great One" isn't as great of a role model as you think he is.  His
actions were shameful.

Oh, so that makes it OK!  That's what leads our children down the wrong
path.  First it is saying naughtly words...next thing they are smoking,
drinking and "doing ***."  I find it pathetic that people like you
just write this stuff off as no big deal.

It is a *huge* deal when people like my son want to emulate these people
in every way.  Now I have to de-program this language from his brain.

RUTSie material here....perhaps mentioning the children in attendance within
earshot of Gretzky or how the athletes on the Canadian team, Gretzky
included, have held out in contract disputes which will bankrupt every team
in Canada except for Toronto.

Not just the players, but some of the fans need to grow up as well.

Just after the game, dozen of cars passed by at high speed with their
horns and occupants going off at high volume.  This in a quiet
residental neighbourhood with children playing and such. At least once
I then got to hear tires squeal and maybe something crashing.

If this can happen in sleepy, half-British, Victoria, I wouldn't be
surprised if places like Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto are in flames
right now.

Com'n guys, act like you've actually accomplished something before.

Wouldn't it be better to explain to him why other people use that language,
and why you think it's wrong?  Passing the blame sounds a lot like passing
the buck, IMHO.

Come down off that high horse of yours.  I've used the F*** word and I don't
smoke, don't drink and don't do ***.  Talk with your kid and stop blaming
others for what YOUR SON says or does.
