I received the following trade proposal the other day:
My lineup is as follows:
QB Brunell/R.Johnson (may need to pickup someone else this week)
I was offered T. Allen and R. Smith for E. Smith and B. Sanders straight
up. I am in a 12 team, TD only league, with no yardage bonuses. I was
hoping to upgrade my #2 back from Emmitt Smith to Terry Allen and have
Robert Smith as my backup in case of injury (that is, if he doesn't get
injured first!). I nabbed Emmitt from a disgruntled owner and have a
preference for Terry Allen. In addition, given the recent developments
in Detroit with TD Tommy Vardell getting goalline carries and the
effectiveness of the Mitchell-H.Moore combo, Barry's scoring chances are
harder to predict. Basically, I'd be swapping Barry for Robert Smith
(or Raymont Harris) to convince the other owner to part with Terry
Allen. Remember: TDs only! Any opinions on this deal are welcome (I
won't pull the trigger on my decision anyway until next week cause I
think Barry will tear it up this week and Watters, E. Smith, and T.
Allen all have byes).
It boils down to this:
Is the Watters/T. Allen combo better than either a Watters/E. Smith
(will he ever come around?) or Watters/B. Sanders (he will score, but in
which games?) combo in a TD league, considering the first pair will be
my starters for the rest of the year?
Thanks for your response...
