Cowboys Trivia - Question #10 (back to normal) + Answer #9

Post by #2 » Sat, 10 Aug 1996 04:00:00

Hello Cowboys fans -

Well it seems I pissed a lot of you off with last week's very trivial
trivia question.  But at least I finally stumped Cowboy trivia expert
Frank Wood (although he was close).

From now on I'll post more normal trivia.

Question #10 - While still playing college football, Troy Aikman
suffered a broken leg.  Name the opposing college player who broke
Troy's leg.

a) Jerome Brown
b) Ray Childress
c) Duane Bickett
d) Leslie O'Neal

Last Weeks' Question

Question #9 - In the 1993 NFC Championship Game won by Dallas 30 to 20
over San Francisco at Candlestick Park, the 49ers threatened late in
the game.  With Dallas leading 24 to 13 late in the 4th quarter,
Emmitt Smith was stuffed on a 4th down play.  Then Steve Young mounted
a long no huddle scoring drive that ended with a touchdown pass to
Jerry Rice to make the score 24 to 20.  What was the time of
possession on that San Francisco scoring drive?

a) 1 minute, 56 seconds
b) 2 minutes, 12 seconds
c) 2 minutes, 31 seconds
d) 2 minutes, 44 seconds

Answer - Steve Young drove 93 yards and fired a TD to Rice in 2
minutes, 44 seconds, a masterful demonstation of how to run a 2 minute
offense.

yes, but the question was Menusha (sp)! :) Anyway, the answer to this 'easy'
question is Jerome Brown, who was playing for Jimmy Johnson's University of
Miami squad that year, I believe it was 1985.

If it was so masterful, then how come he didn't *do it* in two minutes?

Troy broke his leg against the Jimmy Johnson-coached Miami Hurricanes,
courtesy of the lovely Jerome Brown.
