Let's be honest here, the 800lb elephant probem in attracting new
membership to our group is that we act like***s towards new posters
here.   Maybe if we'd act halfway civil towards new people instead of
trying to be uber-snarky and uber-cool, we might not have a membership
problem here.   Just something to think about.

Yep.  Always been a problem around here.  Not to mention the hyena-
like reaction when someone makes a legitimate mistake or has a
different view of a particular subject.  With the complete lack of
females here, this place has kind of become a stinky boys club.

But thats what gives this place its charm.

it's true Jim - it is a fine line.    But look at yesterday, we had a
female poster here for the first time in ages (Julie) and we have some
guys dry-humping her leg and other guys throwing open thier trench
coats.   We're a creepy bunch.

No, Einstein, it's not the problem. The problem is that ***s like you
make idiotic off topic posts and then crosspost them to other groups in the
belief that readers of those groups will then be magically attracted to your
phony sports NG. And if those readers object to having their newsgroups
disrespected with crossposts and troll messages, the collective ***s who
cluster here attack those readers for trying to protect their groups from
you ***ing trolls.

That's why people hate your pathetic excuse for a sports newsgroup and
consider you a low level troll.

Maybe if you were to grow up and use Usenet as it is intended and show a
little respect for its long standing conventions, instead of handing out
excuses for why you think you are exempt from them, you might get some
respect. If you can't do that, then your group will just continue being a
magnet for trolls with no redeeming qualities.

Try real hard to get a ***ing clue, troll.

The nicest thing I can think of for you is to point out that you're clearly
too stupid and phony to give a shit about the point I was trying to make in
response to yours. I doubt you even read it. But then it may have exceeded
your reading and comprehension skills. And it's clear that your real
motivation is to expand the off topic bullshit and crossposts that
constantly dribble out of this group like a full diaper.

Moral: Never offer advice to a troll.
