OSU vs. Iowa Game

The fake field goal try by Iowa was a great call, but the officials blew the
play.  Everyone in the horseshoe saw the holding by two separate Iowa
players.  They were flagrant and obvious.  Yet, no flag.  That kind of stuff
all too often ruins an otherwise good game.

True, they gave the Hawkeyes 4 points.

They also gave the Buckeyes 14.

The score differential was 9 in favor of the Buckeyes.

That's ok...those flags were thrown on Michigan State on two bogus calls.  It
all evens out somewhere in the Big Ten with these lousy refs.

Since the punt block was Ohio State's only other touchdown, one wonders
how you get that accounting.

The fake field goal missed holding gave Iowa 4.

The block in the back by OSU on the punt return gave OSU 7.

Some idot forgot that OSU choked when they got the push-off to the 1
where PI wasn't called.  Oops.

Thankee.

So you're counting non-existent "potential" points?

I didn't think you were referring to yourself.

My apologies.

They were holds, not takedowns.

For some reason, the Big Ten only calls takedowns.  Been true at least
the last several years.

Why not?  Nebraska fans have been doing it ever since Eric Crouch got his
head twisted off.

The hold nearest to the sideline did result in a takedown.
